![]() ![]() No other files from my own devices or files sent to me by clients seem to have this kind of issue with poor performance. ![]() I have no doubt that vfr causes issues in Premiere Pro, but I think there's possibly an additional factor in the files that DJI drones generate. The files I checked showed "VFR:0.000000" and Premiere still choked on them. This is interesting, and frustrating! I followed your link and used the vfrdet feature in ffmpeg to test my files, and they came up again as not showing VFR. So, to anyone having issues with clips from a DJI drone, this simple step is worth trying even if your clips don't seem to be in variable framerate in the first place. That immediately cleared up the performance issues. Nonetheless, I eventually decided to go ahead and re-encode the DJI clips to ProRes. MediaInfo and Shutter Encoder both indicated constant framerate on the DJI clips. In my case, the clips from my DJI Mini 2 were not showing as being in VFR in any of the tools I used to check. In looking at the file info, I couldn't see any obvious issues with the DJI clips and they were actually almost the exact same specs as the Nikon clips. Playback and export in Premiere was atrocious on the DJI clips only. My project is a mix of Nikon Z30 video and DJI Mini 2 video. I just wanted to chime in though, in case anyone else is searching for an answer and got on the wrong track investigating VFR. This is really useful information, and resolved an issue I was having.
